We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated M&A Director/Managing Director to join our team in Tokyo. The Director/MD will be responsible for managing the execution of M&A transactions in Japan, including deal sourcing, financial analysis, due diligence, and transaction structuring. This role requires strong business acumen, financial modeling expertise, and the ability to work closely with internal and external stakeholders to drive successful deal outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct in-depth financial analysis, including financial modeling, valuation, and risk assessment.
• Develop and maintain relationships with investors, financial institutions, and industry professionals to identify new deal opportunities.
• Collaborate with senior leadership to develop strategic M&A initiatives and assess potential acquisition targets in Japan.
• Provide post-transaction management support to ensure value creation and successful integration.
• Prepare high-quality presentations and investment materials for internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Approximately 15 years of work experience, preferably with a background in PE or consulting firm with consumer M&A experience.
• Strong track record in deal sourcing and execution.
• Solid financial modeling and valuation skills with a deep understanding of corporate finance principles.
• Strong business acumen with the ability to assess risks and opportunities.
• Experience in post-merger integration and portfolio management is a plus.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and negotiation skills.
• Fluency in English is required.
