About the role
AlphaX is a financial sector startup seeking our first dedicated LLM specialist to lead the development and optimization of our AI-powered document analysis platform. This is a foundational role where you'll have the opportunity to establish best practices, build systems from the ground up, and directly shape our technical direction in applying large language models to financial analysis, risk assessment, and investment recommendations.
What you'll do
- Fine-tune and optimize LLM models for financial document analysis and domain-specific use cases
- Experiment with different model architectures to identify optimal solutions for our applications
- Design, build, and optimize training pipelines for model development and deployment
- Develop comprehensive evaluation frameworks and benchmarking systems to measure model performance
- Generate automated risk reports, investment recommendations, and risk assessments from financial documents
- Establish ML engineering best practices and technical standards as our first LLM specialist
- Collaborate with product and business teams to translate financial analysis requirements into technical solutions
What we're looking for
Required:
- Demonstrated hands-on experience fine-tuning multiple LLM models across different use cases
- Strong foundational knowledge of LLM architectures and how they work under the hood
- Proficiency in Python for machine learning and data engineering
- Ability to work independently and make technical decisions in a startup environment with limited existing ML infrastructure
- Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to experiment and iterate
Nice to Have:
- Experience with financial documents, financial analysis, or fintech applications
- Familiarity with popular LLM frameworks (e.g., Hugging Face, PyTorch, TensorFlow)
- Knowledge of MLOps practices and deployment pipelines
- Experience building systems from scratch in early-stage environments
