The Director will be responsible for the overall strategic direction of the finance and accounting function aligning with the strategic direction and objectives of InComm Japan K.K.
Managing a staff of six (6), the Director will have P&L and Balance Sheet responsibility for InComm's Point-of-Sale-Activation physical and digital gift card, Payment Transactions and Marketing Businesses based in Japan from a Budget, Forecast and Accounting perspective.
The Director's responsibilities will include billing functions and the related recognition of revenue from gift card activations, payment transactions and marketing services, analysis of program margins, and validation and reconciliation of payments to content providers and billings to retail distributors.
This position will be responsible for completing standard, monthly analyses and reporting in conjunction with the closing of the books and will include the monthly reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts, receivable collections and ensure proper rating of transactions.
Partner with business leadership to support retail distributor and content provider.The overall objective of the Director and their team is to ensure that revenue and the financial statements are recognized in a timely and accurate basis.
ResponsibilitiesFluent in Japanese and English.
Ability to be "hands-on," willingness to understand business model and underlying detailed accounting processes to gather ownership of all accounting functions and processes.
Willingness to expend individual time to digest current procedures, understanding the purpose of processes and withholding making changes until understanding end-to-end accounting processes and data sources.
Seasoned leader who has ability to build on staff's strengths and compliment their weaknesses, willingness to meet staff "where they are at" and through mentoring and leading, assist staff in meeting Company objectives.
Responsible for overall aspects of internal financial reporting.Manage monthly, quarterly and year-end financial close and reporting process.
Team member of the Global Accounting Organization that supports a Significant Global Entity with world-wide and in-country transaction volume of $60.0B and $4.5B, respectively.
Ability to partner with local business leadership while conforming with Global Entity Reporting requirements and processes.Direct responsibilities for external financial statement STAT audit.
Manage and direct staff enabling staff to develop the appropriate capabilities to meet Company objectives.
Analyze and review financial information pertaining to monthly and quarterly close and provide executive level presentation offinancial results.
Tax return preparation and administration for income and consumption taxes.
Transfer Pricing experience.
Experience transitioning accounting system to ERP. Key contributor, working with IT and direct staff, to implement new accounting and financial systems and other tools.
Responsible for facilitating receivable collections and managing working capital/cash flow.
Partner with Corporate Teams (FP&A, Treasury, A/P, A/R, Tax and Financial Reporting), as appropriate.
Participate in the development and support of the Company's strategic plans, annual budget and forecast.
Supports and assists with the internal audit function and ongoing internal control requirements.
Write, implement and ensure effective and practical implementation of corporate accounting policies.
Assists in recruiting, training, mentoring and evaluating staff.
Partner with Corporate FP&A during the monthly close process to analyze results and provide variance commentary.
Assists in developing an annual plan for the region along with providing on-going support in the forecasting process.
Providing Corporate FP&A with monthly sales data that is accurately priced.
Partner with Operations and Corporate FP&A to review financial models for accuracy and profitability for potential new and existing business relationships.
QualificationsDegree qualified (preferably with a finance discipline).
Minimum of 15 years of audit, accounting, and financial experience.
Current, extensive knowledge of Local GAAP and internal control processes.
Knowledge and experience with financial systems and the integration of financial information into the General Ledger.
JICPA Active License a plus.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Impeccable analytical and organizational skills.
Self-motivated and self-directed.
Blackline, Net Suite and Oracle experience a plus.
