TEAM The Map Services team in Tokyo, Japan, is a culturally diverse team developing software for autonomous driving (AD) and advanced driver assistance (ADAS) systems. Our experts develop cutting-edge technology for the next-generation AD/ADAS platform, building components deployed to both Cloud and vehicles. The team is responsible for the in-vehicle map servicing architecture, efficient processing of map data, and providing the map data to the AD/ADAS applications. We apply state-of-the-art technology, write high quality safety-critical code that gets deployed to production.
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR? ・An experienced Senior Software Engineer for Autonomous Driving with > 5 years of experience ・Expert knowledge in writing modern, high-quality, safe C++ code targeting Embedded applications ・Strong background in Embedded (preferably Automotive), with a proven track record in bringing software to production ・A great team player with passion to innovate and deliver a product to the customer
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design, architect and implement components of the AD/ADAS stack
- Development of C++ software components for Autonomous Driving and Mapping Applications
- Integration and qualification of software modules in terms of safety, performance and computing resources
- Work with other teams on the successful deployment to the target hardware and Cloud-based SiLS
- Reviewing and approving deliveries according to the specifications, requirements and milestones
- Oversee, monitor and optimize computing budgets of the software stack
- Team mentorship, guidance, technical leadership and decision making
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Expert knowledge in modern C++ development (C++14 or higher)
- Strong experience in modern Python
- Experience with build automation software, such as CMake or Bazel
- Expertise in POSIX-compliant operating systems, for example Linux or QNX
- Experience in designing software architectures and bringing them to production
- Ability to independently make decisions based on project priorities and scope
NICE TO HAVES
- Experience in Automotive-related mapping applications, such as navigation or ADAS
- Experience with Automotive Protocols (CAN, Ethernet, SOME/IP)
- Familiar with modern ARM-based SoC architectures
- Familiar with Functional Safety/ISO 26262
- Experience working in large, distributed international teams
- Business level Japanese
