Directs operation and performance of company-managed and/or owned hotels within an assigned area / cluster to maximize profitability and/or return on investment.
Manages relationships with the assigned owners, franchisees and principal correspondents, and hotel management staff to optimize relationships, the value of IHG brands and services, and ensure compliance with quality and operational standards.
Key Accountabilities
Provides direction to General Managers in the development of annual business plans and capital expenditure plans for assigned area of responsibility.
Maintains a strong working relationship with Owner(s) through regular meetings/communication concerning IHG initiatives/actions that impact the hotels.
Monitors the implementation of strategic plans through written correspondence and frequent personal visits to maximize hotel operating profits, quality and service levels to achieve brand and owner objectives.
Participates in the development of and implementation of strategies that will drive performance in the areas of Food & Beverage, Training, Quality, Field Service, etc.
to ensure key business objectives are achieved.Acts as mentor to General Managers and takes responsibility for their professional development and career progression by implementing Personal Development Plans and monitoring individual performance through both informal/formal processes.
Key Skills & ExperiencesBachelor's degree or equivalent in Hotel Management, Business degree or equivalent experience.
Typically 8 years or more in hotel operations management or related experience. In-depth knowledge of operations to include F&B, quality, hotel operations, and marketing/sales principles.
Effective communications and presentations skills.
Excellent problem solving and organizational skills.
Strong influencing, negotiating and consensus-building skills to deal effectively with different owner objectives balanced against IHG objectives.
