Our Senior Developer Advocates are technical leaders and mentors that anchor our team. They own projects from beginning to end, facilitating collaboration and enabling Datadog's community to solve real-world problems. With a focus on our Japanese user community, this role will enable our community of engineers around Datadog to be part of a movement of building better software. In this role, you'll work with both the Datadog Japan office and our global teams to ensure all Japanese language presentations are high quality, technically correct and well communicated.

What You'll Do:

• Act as a subject matter expert for the Datadog advocacy and engineering teams
• Create content in one or more mediums to build Datadog's reputation as a leader in DevOps, Observability and Security e.g. building demos, public speaking, blogging, documentation, webinars, open source, research reports and more
• Adapt and contextualize relevant technical content for our Japanese user community
• Partner with and coach internal product and customer engineering teams on effective public communication and presentations for the work they do
• Contribute to the product through feedback (bugs or product enhancements suggestions)
• Identify and pursue opportunities for events, programs, and other community-focused work that establishes trust with developers
• Builds awareness of Datadog as a technical leader within our spaces we engage
• Partner with the local office on technical content needs and priorities for our Japanese users

Who You Are:

• You have broad technical experience and knowledge, but can also dive deep into a specific technical area (or areas)
• You have a native language level in Japanese and business level in English, both written and spoken
• 10+ years experience as a software developer, SRE, or other practitioner; including building and maintaining production systems
• 3+ years of experience as an advocate and / or equivalent experience e.g. skilled at reaching software developers across multiple channels, such as written content, conference talks, leading workshops, live streaming or recording videos, contributing to open source, and participating in community events
• You have publicly available writing samples, blog posts, demos, or recordings of presentations on technical topics
• You are comfortable with at least 2 programming languages (eg , Python, Go, bash) and are familiar with modern infrastructure such as IaaS cloud services and containers
• You enjoy self driven exploration and education on new technologies and languages
