Position Overview:
Evatec is a global leader in physical vapor deposition (PVD) technology, specializing in high-volume sputtering and evaporation systems used across various high-tech industries including Advanced Packaging, MEMS, Power Electronics, LED, Optics, and Wireless Communications.
As we continue to expand our presence in Asia, particularly Japan, we are seeking a Sales Manager
to lead and support sales and marketing initiatives. This role involves managing customer relationships, promoting our product portfolio, driving business growth, and acting as a vital link between customers in Japan and our global headquarters in Switzerland.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own and manage assigned customer accounts in Japan.
- Lead technical and commercial negotiations to secure orders.
- Coordinate payment collections as needed.
- Execute aligned sales and marketing strategies to promote our PVD equipment.
- Develop and implement business plans to meet annual sales targets.
- Provide regular updates in CRM; ensure data accuracy.
- Support trade shows, events, and relationship-building activities.
- Collaborate with international teams (HQ in Switzerland and regional offices).
- Ensure timely and effective communication between customers and Evatec HQ.
- Uphold the highest standards of business conduct and integrity.
- Be flexible for both domestic and international travel.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in
Engineering, Physics, or Materials Science
(preferred). - 5+ years of sales experience
with PVD or front-end semiconductor high vacuum thin film deposition equipment. - International company experience is a strong advantage.
Industry Expertise (Preferred):

Skills & Competencies:
- Proven sales expertise with PVD (Sputtering or Evaporation) or vacuum systems/components.
- Strong communication skills in
Japanese and English
(both written and verbal). - High adaptability and resilience in dynamic environments.
- Solid interpersonal, reporting, and decision-making skills.
- Capable of motivating others and managing cross-functional relationships.
- Ability to travel frequently, including overseas trips for business and training.
Additional Responsibilities (Technical Support Scope):
Although primarily a Sales Manager role, a technical understanding is valuable due to the complexity of our systems. The role includes some responsibilities typically related to technical support:
- Support customers with equipment usage and troubleshooting.
- Respond to critical system downtime situations.
- Interpret technical drawings and collaborate with engineering support teams.
- Travel internationally for product training and customer support activities.
