Our client is looking for a
Country Manager - Japan
who takes overall responsibility for the financial performance and operational leadership of the Japan region. Working closely with global C-suite colleagues they strategically develop the business unit into a large, profitable and self-sustaining operational arm of the global organisation. They ensure the region meets its financial performance targets, and the individual teams meet and exceed in-country sales targets by expertly planning and implementing an in-country sales strategy.
This role is based in Tokyo, Japan with 3-4 days in the office.
Key Deliverables
- Smooth Country Operations: the jobholder is responsible for ensuring their local entity is run effectively, equipping and supporting local colleagues to do their jobs. These individuals may not directly report to the Country Manager.
- Delivering Sales Growth in Assigned Territory: closing deals that deliver margin rich revenue is critical to effective performance in this role, driving in-country business growth.
- Strategic Planning: proactively analysing the market and individual opportunities to identify and proactively manage opportunities from lead to close.
- Long-Lasting Customer Relationships: providing customers with ever-closer relationships where we are viewed as a business partner, leading to renewals and protecting existing revenue.
Education & Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent, or significant alternative experience
- Industry specific certifications
Experience:
- Significant experience of personally delivering direct sales
- SaaS or other highly relevant experience
- Strong experience in leading sales teams as a head of or director of sales, typically of at least five years
- Experience with Partner/Channel organisations
- Experience of developing vertical or client-specific sales strategies
- Demonstrable experience of driving the sales cycle from plan to close
Skills:
- Strong leadership and people skills including coaching skills
- Exceptional influencing and negotiation skills
- Exceptional communication skills, oral, written and presenting
- Good organisation skills
- Able to analyse data and propose effective actions to increase sales
- Good skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, CRM etc
- Able to deal with high pressure situations, negotiations and expectations
