What you will do. A glimpse in your role:

As an
HR Generalist for Japan
, you'll play a vital role in delivering smooth day-to-day HR operations and creating a positive employee experience at every stage of the employee lifecycle.

You'll be responsible for payroll, recruitment coordination, onboarding and offboarding, managing employee data, and ensuring compliance with Japanese labor laws and company policies.

Collaborating with another HR Generalist in the team, you'll also support various HR initiatives and collaborate with both regional and global HR teams to drive operational excellence.

Your responsibilities include:

Recruitment Operations

  • Coordinate the full recruitment process including job postings, interview scheduling, and communication with candidates.
  • Liaise with hiring managers to ensure timely and efficient hiring processes.
  • Prepare and issue offer letters and new hire documentation.

Onboarding & Offboarding

  • Coordinate new hire onboarding, including orientation scheduling, system set-up, and compliance documentation.
  • Facilitate smooth offboarding for departing employees, including processing final documentation and system deactivation.
  • Conduct administrative support for probation and confirmation processes.

Payroll & Employee Data Management

  • Process and validate monthly payroll data in collaboration with external vendors and the finance team.
  • Ensure payroll accuracy, legal compliance, and timely reporting.
  • Maintain and update employee records in the HRIS system.

HR Administration & Compliance

  • Ensure HR practices are in line with Japanese labor laws and internal policies.
  • Support HR audits and prepare documentation for labor inspections if required.
  • Administer benefits, leave management, and employee status changes.

Employee Support

  • Guide employees through administrative processes and ensure timely response to requests.

Support for HR Initiatives

  • Assist in executing employee engagement and welfare programs.
  • Support training coordination and internal communication efforts.
  • Assist in HR reporting and metrics tracking for internal stakeholders.

  • A Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of experience in an HR generalist or operations role in Japan.
  • Solid knowledge of Japanese labor laws and HR compliance.
  • Hands-on experience with payroll, recruiting coordination, and employee admin tasks.
  • Proficiency with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office tools.
  • Fluency in Japanese and business-level English.
