Job Description: Civil Design Engineer
Location: Tokyo
Job Type: Full-time
Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct site surveys to assess project feasibility and suitability.
- Perform due diligence for civil engineering projects, ensuring all potential obstacles are identified.
- Attend administrative hearings and consultations related to urban development and civil engineering projects.
- Facilitate the acquisition of development-related permits and licenses from local authorities.
- Design and implement civil engineering plans in accordance with industry standards and regulations.
- Calculate construction costs, budget forecasts, and financial implications related to proposed projects.
- Assess business feasibility for new projects, providing comprehensive reports and recommendations.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies.
Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Professional Engineer (PE) licensure or equivalent certification is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of civil engineering principles, practices, and techniques.
- Proficiency in engineering design software and tools.
Desired Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in civil design engineering or a similar role.
- Experience with project management and working in multi-disciplinary teams.
- Familiarity with local regulations and compliance requirements specific to Japan.
- Demonstrated ability to evaluate project costs and prepare financial analyses.
