Job Responsibilities
- Execute and manage power market trades, including both physical and derivative contracts.
- Develop and implement trading strategies that optimize risk‑adjusted returns.
- Monitor market conditions, regulatory changes, and price movements to identify opportunities.
- Collaborate with risk, analytics, and operations teams to ensure accurate trade capture and settlement.
- Prepare and present regular performance reports to senior management.
- Maintain compliance with internal policies and external regulations governing energy markets.
- Mentor junior traders and contribute to knowledge‑sharing within the trading desk.
Essential Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to model and interpret complex market data.
- Proficiency in power market fundamentals, including physical and derivatives trading.
- Excellent communication skills in English; Japanese language ability is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and make rapid decisions.
Desired Experience
- 2–7 years of experience in power or energy trading.
- Hands‑on experience with physical power contracts, futures, options, and other derivatives.
- Familiarity with trading platforms, risk management systems, and market data tools.
- Track record of delivering profitable trading performance.
